Farmhouse Front Porch: Featuring our Nate&Lane Swing Bed!

Updated: Dec 12, 2019

Whew, y’all....we are super excited to share the details on this year’s Fall front porch! It doesn’t matter that the first few weeks of the season here in TN were hotter than a burnt marshmallow sitting in the middle of the Sahara Desert, we have been soaking up all the good pumpkin vibes and mum feels! And we have been ESPECIALLY loving the cozy, homey feel our new Nate & Lane Swingbed is giving us. It. Is. So. Beautiful! So grab your pumpkin spice latte (or your basic Fall poison) and let’s get this show on the road!

FARMHOUSE FALL FRONT PORCH  Pumpkin Shopping: This is where it all begins, folks, and as a mom-daughter team we’ve been going to the pumpkin patch together for ages. Even as the years have passed and now that we are business partners it just gets more and more fun!

We have several local farm stands available to us, all with great selections. But our favorite is Triple A Farms in Rockvale, TN (pictured)

My vision for this year was to do a neutral Fall palette with black. I went into it thinking I would do white and gray pumpkins and gourds, but when I was at the farm and saw all the green...I knew that was it! And to make sure I got exactly what I needed, I used by hubby’s truck as a mock front door - styling everything around it. Ha ha! It saved a lot of time in the long run!

Our dog, Willow, helping out Michaela - because someone has to strategically place things so I can say “A little to the left...now swap it with the smaller one...back to the right...perfect!” Getting this porch together was THE most fun, and honestly came together super quickly! THE REVEAL!!  We could not be happier with the outcome!

This old farmhouse porch looks pretty good all cleaned up. We scattered some white pumpkins along the front with mums in the concrete containers. This softens the front step area.  We wanted to create a symmetrical look on both sides of the door without it appearing as a mirror image. To achieve that we used corn stalks, the gigantic white pumpkins and mums in galvanized olive buckets. Then we filled in with a variation of pumpkins and gourds.  This is one of our favorite vantage points! By the way did I share that the cornstalks were at my husband’s request? He loves that look for Fall and it was definitely a good call on his part! Now how about this metal “Happy Fall Y’all” pumpkin sign from Metal Unlimited?! Shop it here: www.metalunlimited.com, and get 30% off with code FALLFORMU! Y’all know of our love relationship with Kirkland’s! This “pumpkin spice...” door mat is everything. We layered it with an outdoor floor mat from World Market (this mat is sold out, but shop a comparable item here ), along with our Park Hill lanterns from Pottery Barn.  (Shop the lanterns here.)

NATE & LANE PORCH SWING BED! And now to the pièce de résistance....

Our Bailey swing bed in black from Nate & Lane!! Our Bailey swing bed in black from Nate & Lane!! Our Bailey swing bed in black from Nate & Lane!!

This particular bed is in a crib size. It is just gorgeous and perfect for the space! We can’t wait for the tree behind it to turn it’s beautiful shade of Fall orange. That will be a showstopper of a backdrop!
